The Community-
The Oaks North senior community was built between 1976 and 1987. It is a beautifully landscaped community of 1963 well-kept, red-tile roofed homes, of a variety of styles and sizes. Located in unique neighborhoods, they consist of detached and attached, 2 or 3 bedroom single-story homes and 1 to 3 bedroom homes in two-story condominiums. One neighborhood named Chapala, has an electronic entry gate. Gated communities however may not be very important in Rancho Bernardo where they enjoy one of the lowest Crime Rates in Southern California.
This beautiful community is characterized by mature trees, shrubs and flowers and hill and canyon views. The beautifully manicured greens, ponds and fairways of the Oaks North Executive golf course (reputed to be the "Best Executive Golf Course in California"), wind through its neighborhoods. Its location, only approximately 12 miles from the coast, gives it a mild and somewhat ocean-influenced climate. Oaks North is located in Rancho Bernardo, California (please also see a MAP of the area).
Its location, only approximately 12 miles as the crow flies, from the Pacific coast, provides it with a moderate Climate. Average August highs are in the high 80’s (°F) and January lows in the low 40's (°F). With an average annual rainfall that ranges from approximately 9 to 16 inches, the summer afternoon humidity is usually low and the sun shines more than 320 days per year.
The I-15 inland corridor (less than 2 miles away), provides easy access to the other North County cities, to
beautiful downtown San Diego (less than 26 miles away), to the coast (an approximate
19-mile drive via Highway 56), and to the rest of California.
Living in Oaks North means that you're never far from
fine, moderately priced restaurants, quality shopping, movies and live
entertainment. Oaks North is located less than 3 miles from the Bernardo Plaza and Westwood local shopping centers
and about 4 miles from
Escondido's giant

remodeled on the inside where in some cases, the transformation is simply amazing.
The Home Owners Association maintains the exterior of the condominium and
attached homes, including their tile roofs and stucco siding, and also maintains the surrounding grounds.
The individual home owners are responsible for maintaining the detached homes under the guidance of strict CC&R's.
As a consequence, all homes and the surrounding grounds are very well-maintained.

2-Story Condominiums
The Oaks North community contains various sizes and styles of single-floor condominium homes in 2-story buildings. These 1 and 2 bedroom units range in size from approximately 831 to 1445 sq. ft. Some units have elevators to the second floor, others have stairs. Some of the ground floor units have no steps to the front door. The second floor units have balconies and the first floor units have patios. They also have a large variety of interiors; some have fireplaces, high ceilings and many upgrades. Some units have a car port and others have an oversized 1 car detached garage with facilities for golf cart storage and battery charging. Many of these homes also have picturesque views of the golf course or of hills, mountains and city lights.
Single-Story Attached Homes
The Oaks North community also contains a variety of attached homes that are actually condominiums in single-story buildings. These 2 and 3 bedroom units range in size from approximately 1040 to 1445 sq. ft. They come with a variety of parking arrangements too, some have car ports others have 1 or 2 car detached or attached garages. Some homes also have facilities for parking and recharging golf cart batteries. In addition, some have great views of the golf course or of hills, mountains and city lights. Some units also have no steps to the front door, some have a laundry-utility room, a cozy fire place, vaulted ceilings and many have lots of upgrades.
Detached Homes
The Oaks North community also has pristine neighborhoods with a variety of single-story detached homes. These home range in size from approximately 1400 to over 2000 sq. ft. and they each have an attached 2-car garage. Most homes also have nice sized lots with rear patios and room for small gardens and fruit trees. Many of these homes have beautiful modern interiors, some with high ceilings, fireplaces and lots of windows. They all have one or more patios and some have nice views of the golf course, greenbelts or nearby hills, and city lights.
