ENTERTAINING GRANDCHILDREN   Visit Great Local Attractions For Children- Sandy (Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach or Del Mar) beaches, Surfing Lessons in Leucadia, Carlsbad's Legoland Theme Park, Vista's Wave Waterpark, Escondido's great Wild Animal Park or the Escondido Children's Museum.   A Less Than One-Hour Drive Will Take Them To- La Jolla to the Birch Aquarium or to San Diego to Sea World, the famous San Diego Zoo, the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster or Balboa Park with its wonderful Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, IMAX Theater and other attractions for children. A Less Than One And A Half-Hour Drive Will Take Them To- Anaheim to Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure theme parks or to Buena Park's Knott's Berry Farm theme park.   An Approximate Two And A Half-Hour Drive Will Take Them To- Hollywood to Universal Studios or to Valencia to the Six-Flags Magic Mountain Theme Park.

Explore Our Coastal Beauty- Walk, jog, swim, sunbath, play in the sand or surf at one of our fine public beaches, walk the Oceanside Pier and have lunch at Ruby's Diner at the end of the pier, visit the Oceanside Marina or the beautiful nearby LaJolla Cove. Visit Local Attractions- Such as: Encinitas' Quail Botanical Gardens, LaCosta's Museum of Making Music, Oceanside's Museum of Art , The Museum of Surfing or Escondido's Mingei International Museum . In the spring visit-  Carlsbad's Flower Fields, Valley Center's Lavender Fields, or at any time of the year, attend an event at the Del Mar Fair Grounds. Take a Leisure Drive- Some interesting drives include: Drive up Palomar mountain and visit the famous Palomar Observatory. Drive north out of Fallbrook on De Luz Road through beautiful hills covered with avocado groves to Temecula and visit Temecula's Old Town and Wine Country. Visit the unique village of Julian, a nice place to shop for gifts and to enjoy a piece of famous Julian Apple Pie. Drive to Palm Springs, explore this beautiful desert resort community and go for a ride on the famous Palm Springs Tram, up 8000 feet to where the temperature is 40 degrees cooler. In season, visit Anza Borrego State Park to see the beautiful desert wild flowers when they are in bloom.  Visit San Diego- Explore San Diego and partake in the hundreds of things to do there such as: Harbor Cruises (dining, moonlight or mystery) cruises, a Ferry Ride to Coronado Island or a spend day or more visiting beautiful Balboa Park with its 17 museums and over 85 performing arts and international organizations.  Give Them A Memorable Adventure-   Some examples are: Treat them to a Hot Air Balloon or Biplane Ride, a Whale Watching or Deep Sea Fishing Excursion, a shopping experience in Tijuana or possibly a round-trip ride on Amtrak's Surfliner Train to Los Angeles for the day for a Walking Tour of famous Olvera Street and Chinatown. Take Them to a Play, Stage Show, Ballet, Opera or Symphony- You will find that we have a wide choice of Play Houses, Vista's Moonlight Stage Productions , Escondido's California Center for The Arts and San Diego's Lamb's Players Theater are among our favorites. San Diego also has a City Ballet, the San Diego Symphony and the  San Diego Opera.   Gambling and Night Clubbing- Treat them to gambling, dining and stage shows at the 4 Local Indian Gambling Casinos,  or go to the Del Mar Racetrack to thoroughbred races when in season or to para-mutual betting during the off-season. Go dancing at the Belly Up Tavern.   Sports For Everyone- Some Examples: Play Golf, possibly at one of our great courses (such as at the famous local LaCosta or Aviara courses, or the nearby Torrey Pines course) . Go Fishing- Taking a Deep Sea Fishing Excursion or fish from the Oceanside Pier, from the surf or at a Local Lake. Treat them to a sports function- Padres Baseball, Chargers Football are examples. Give them a Surfing Lesson, Rent a Kayak or in the summertime go swimming in the ocean.   Take a One or Two-day Trip- Propose to your guests one of the myriad of possible short, one to two day visits to Los Angeles, Hollywood, Palm Springs, Catalina Island other interesting nearby places too numerous to mention here.   Take Them To Your Favorite Shopping And Dine Places- There are hundreds of great places to shop in North San Diego County-   Carlsbad's Premium Outlets, Downtown LaJolla , San Diego's Horton Plaza and Seaport Village are among our favorites.
